Its geographical location, its pleasant and silent surroundings offer a different and varied kind of hospitality.

 

The Guest Quarters

A great variety of people come: individuals who come for a rest, a retreat, who need silence for writing or to gather their thoughts:
- families to celebrate a birthday, an important event or for a family vacation,
- meetings with friends,
- israeli tourists,
- foreign pilgrims visiting Jerusalem, its surroundings, and the Ein Karem holy place,
- local Christians of the hebrew speaking community or of the arabic speaking community.

 

 

The guest house rooms are simple and comfortable, single rooms, or rooms for couples or families; they can be rented for one or several days.

 

A hermitage (bedroom for 2 persons, a small sitting room with a refrigerator and the possibility to make hot drinks), as well as a large terrace allow one to find personal space, which is helpful to meditation, reflection, rest.

 

In the dining room, an "Israeli" breakfast is served, some elements of which (the jams, the olives) come from the house.

 

The meals: lunches and dinners can be ordered in advance; groups can also request a meal. The cooking is family-style, healthy and nicely served. Depending on the season, it is possible to have one's meal ouside in the gallery.

 

A sitting room with a television and hot drinks is available to guests staying in the house.

 

Many groups benefit from the large rooms for meetings and activities:
Working groups (teachers, psychologists), Interfaith group meetings, various workshops (meditation, art, music).
Groups can come for the day or for several days.

 

For their breaks, they also
have access to a coffee room.

 

The library is accessible only upon request.

 

The garden with its flowers and shade draws many visitors because of its silence and beauty and its unrestricted view of the Judean Hills: saturday walkers,
groups of local tourists, school classes, painters, photographers.

 

The visit of the garden includes a small cemetery, where Father Marie-Alphonse Ratisbonne is buried, as well as sisters who died in Ein Karem and a few Christian friends.

The garden is open to visitors from Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.

 

The person at reception is happy to welcome you and to give information on the convent and the guest house. As for groups or families who so wish, it is possible to ask before coming to meet someone who will give a more extensive explanation on the convent and our life here.
At the reception, there are also some products of the house for sale: jams, olive oil, herbal teas, artistic cards, icons, mounted paintings by the Jewish painter "Benn", as well as a few books and brochures on the village of Ein Karem and the history of the convent.

 

The chapel is a place of silence and prayer, where the welcoming community meets in the evening for prayer in common.
The chapel is striking because of its simplicity and beauty, which help one to gather one's thoughts.

 

The Way of the Cross, which is the work of a Jewish artist, and the stained glass windows showing Moses and Elijah speak of the vocation of Our Lady of Sion, a congregation that is especially attentive to the biblical and Jewish roots of Christian faith.
It is possible to reserve the chapel for concerts of religious music. The quality of its acoustics is such that it is good for every kind of music.

 

L'hôtellerie

Sa situation géographique, son cadre agréable et silencieux offre un accueil divers et varié.

L'hôtellerie
Une grande diversité de personnes la fréquente :
des personnes seules, qui viennent pour un repos, une retraite, un espace pour écrire, se recueillir :
- des familles qui célèbrent des anniversaires, des événements marquants, ou viennent pour des vacances,
- des rencontres d'amis,
- des touristes israéliens ou des pélerins étrangers qui visitent Jérusalem, les environs et ce lieu saint d'Ein Karem,
- des chrétiens locaux de la communauté hébréophone ou de la communauté arabophone.

Les chambres de l'hôtellerie sont simples et confortables : individuelles, pour couples ou familles, elles peuvent être louées pour un ou plusieurs jours.
Un ermitage (chambre à coucher pour 2 personnes, un petit salon équipé d'un frigidaire et de boissons chaudes) ainsi qu'une grande terrasse permet de trouver un espace personnel aidant à la méditation, à la réflexion, au repos.

Dans la salle à manger, est servi un petit déjeuner "israélien" dont certains produits (les confitures, les olives) sont faits dans la maison.
Des repas, déjeuners et diners peuvent être commandés à l'avance ; les groupes peuvent également demander le repas.
La cuisine de type familial est saine et bien servie.
Selon les saisons, la galerie permet de prendre les repas à l'extérieur.
Un salon avec télévision et "boissons chaudes" est à la disposition des hôtes de la maison.
De nombreux groupes profitent des salles pour leurs rencontres, et activités :
groupes de travail - (professeurs, psychologues), réunions de groupes inter-religieux, ateliers divers (méditation, art, musique).
Les groupes peuvent venir pour la journée ou pour rester plusieurs jours.
Ils ont accès également à un "coffee room" pour les temps de pause.
La bibliothèque peut être consultée uniquement sur demande.

Le jardin fleuri et ombragé attire de nombreux visiteurs par son silence et sa beauté, avec une vue imprenable sur les collines de Judée : promeneurs du samedi, groupes de touristes locaux, classes de jeunes, peintres, photographes.
La visite du jardin comprend aussi un petit cimetière dans lequel est enterré le Père Marie Alphonse Ratisbonne, ainsi que des soeurs décédées à Ein Karem et quelques amis chrétiens.
Le jardin peut être visité du lundi au vendredi de 9h à 12h et de 14 h à 17h, le samedi de 9h à 17h. Il est fermé le dimanche.

A la réception, une personne vous accueille, pouvant vous donner quelques renseignements sur le couvent et l'hôtellerie.
Pour les groupes ou familles qui le desirent, vous pouvez demander à l'avance de rencontrer une personne qui vous donnera des explications plus importantes sur le couvent et notre vie ici.
Vous touverez aussi à la réception quelques produits de la maison en vente : confitures, huile d'olive, tisanes, cartes artistiques, icônes, peintures du peintre juif "Benn" ainsi que quelques livres et brochures sur le village d'Ein Karem et sur l'histoire du couvent.

La chapelle : lieu de silence et de prière où la communauté d'accueil se retrouve pour la prière commune le soir.
La chapelle frappe par sa simplicité et sa beauté qui aident au recueillement.
Le chemin de croix, oeuvre d'une artiste juive, et les vitraux représentant Moïse et Elie, parlent de la vocation de Notre Dame de Sion, congrégation particulièrement attentive aux sources bibliques et juives de la foi chrétienne.
La chapelle peut être réservée pour des concerts de musique religieuse. La qualité de son acoustique se prête à toute oeuvre musicale.

- משפחות אשר חוגגות ארועים משפחתיים, ימי הולדת או ארועים חשובים אחרים, וכאלה הבאים לבלות חופשה משפחתית.
- פגישות עם חברים.
- תיירים ישראלים.
- צליינים המבקרים את ירושלים וסביבותיה ואת המקומות הקדושים שבעין-כרם.
- נוצרים מקומיים מין הקהילה הדוברת עברית והקהילה הדוברת ערבית.

חדרי האורחים פשוטים ונוחים. יש חדרים ליחידים, לזוגות או למשפחות. ניתן לשכור אותם ללילה אחד או כמובן ליותר.
ישנו ה- Hermitage (הכולל חדר שינה ל-2 אנשים, חדר הסבה קטן עם מקרר קטן ואפשרות הכנה של שתיה חמה) ומרפסת גדולה ורחבה המאפשרת התבודדות הארה ומנוחה.

בחדר האוכל מוגשת ארוחת בוקר "ישראלית".אשר חלק ממרכיביה כגון הפירות מהן עשויות המרקחות או הזיתים הינם מתוצרת הבית.
הארוחות: ארוחת צהרים וארוחת ערב ניתן להקדים ולהזמין מראש. כמו כן ניתנת לקבוצות שאינן מתגוררות במקום האפשרות להזמין ארוחה מראש. סגנון הבישול במטבחנו הינו סגנון ביתי משפחתי, צנוע ומזין והגשתו נאה.
בתנאי מזג אוויר מתאימים מוגשות הארוחות גם בגינה שמחוץ לחדר האוכל.

ישנו במקום חדר הסבה מרווח ונינוח ובו מכשיר טלויזיה, עם תנאים נוחים להכנה חופשית של שתיה חמה.
חדרים מרווחים רבים עומדים לרשות האורחים, חדרים בהם ניתן לנהל מפגשים ופעילויות קבוצתיות שונות כגון:
קבוצות עבודה מגוונות (של מורים למשל או פסיכולוגים).
מפגשים רב-דתיים.
מגוון סדנאות לאומנות, מוסיקה ומדיטציה. ועוד.
ניתן להזמין את אותם חדרים לעריכת מפגשים בני יום אחד או יותר.
"פינת הקפה" שבחדר ההסבה, עומדת לשמוש חופשי לרשות המשתתפים.
הספריה נפתחת לקהל רק בעקבות בקשה מיוחדת.

גינת המנזר , על עציה המצילים ושפע פרחיה מהווה מוקד משיכה מיוחד למטיילי שבת רגועים, קבוצות של תיירים מקומיים או בודדים, הנהנים מיופייה ולשקט המיוחד השורר בה. וכמובן גם מנופם העשיר של הרי יהודה הנשקף ממנה. בין הבאים ניתן לא אחת לפגוש ציירים בעבודתם, צלמים המנציחים רגעים מופלאים ועוד.
הסיור בגן כולל גם את בית הקברות הקטן אשר נמצא המתחם הגן ואשר ובו קבורים בין היתר האב מרי אלפונס רטיסבון, נזירות שנפטרו בעין-כרם ומספר חברים נוצרים שהיו מקורבים לקהילה.
שעות הפתיחה של הגן:
בימים שני עד שישי בין השעות 9.00 לפנה"צ עד 12.00 בצהריים. ובין 14.00 עד 17.00 אחה"צ.
בשבת פתוח הגן לביקורים בין השעות 9.00 לפנה"צ עד 17.00 אחה"צ רצוף.
ביום ראשון סגור הגן למבקרים.

בכניסה למתחם המנזר מקבלת את פני הבאים אחת מתושבות המנזר אשר תמיד שמחה לקבל את פניהם ולספק את כל האינפורמציה אודות המנזר ובית ההארחה. באשר למשפחות או לקבוצות מאורגנות, ניתן להזמין מראש הדרכה יותר מפורטת על המקום ועל החיים בו.

בחדר הקבלה ניתן גם לרכוש ממוצרי המקום: ריבות, שמן זית, מינים שונים של תה צמחים, גלויות אומנותיות, איקונות, ציורים מורכבים של הצייר היהודי "בן" וגם חוברות ובהו סיפורים על עין-כרם הכפר ועל המנזר.

בית התפילה השקט והרגוע שבתחום המנזר הינו המקום אליו מתכנסת קהילת הנזירות בערב לתפילה משותפת.

המקום שובה לב בפשטותו וביופי שבו, ועוזר למבקר בו להתרכז ולארגן את מחשבותיו.

עבודת הקרמיקה "דרך היסורים של ישוע" הטבועה בקירות שני צידי הכנסיה נעשתה בידי אומנית יהודיה. החלונות הצבעוניים: אחד המראה את משה רבנו עם לוחות הברית וממולו את אליהו הנביא, מבטאים בבהירות את ייעודו של מסדר "האחיות ציון" ואת עומק אמונתן בשורשיה של היהדות בדת הנוצרית.
