Geographical situation

The convent is at the heart of the Judean Hills, in the village of Ein Karem, the traditional place of Mary's visit to Elizabeth and of the birth of John the Baptist.
Ein Karem, while being very much sought after both by the local population and by pilgrims, has kept its village character and draws many artists by its beauty. Above the village to the west is the Hadassah Hospital and to the east Mount Herzl and the Yad Vashem Memorial.

How to get to the Convent of Our Lady of Sion

- from Jerusalem: arriving in Ein Karem village, take first street at left, Ha Ma'ayan Street. Immediatly take first right, Ha Oren Street, and follow to the end, n°23.
- from Tel Aviv: leave the highway to Jerusalem at exit Mevasseret Zion/Castel. Travel in the direction of Hadassah Hospital until Kerem junction. Turn left to Jerusalem. Once in the center of the village turn right in Ha Ma'ayan Street and take first right, Ha Oren Street, and follow to the end, n°23.

Situation géographique

Le couvent se trouve au coeur des collines de Judée, dans le village d'Ein Karem, lieu traditionnel de la visitation de Marie à Elisabeth et de la naissance de St Jean-Baptiste.
Ein Karem tout en étant un lieu très fréquenté aussi bien par la population locale que par les pélerins a gardé son cachet de village et attire par sa beauté de nombreux artistes. Le village est surplombé à l'Ouest par l'hôpital Hadassah et à l'Est par le Mont Hertzel et le mémorial de Yad Vashem.

Pour venir au Couvent Notre Dame de Sion

- de Jérusalem : en arrivant dans le village d'Ein Karem, prendre la première rue à gauche, Ha Ma'ayan Street. Immédiatement prendre la première à droite, Ha Oren Street et la suivre jusqu'au bout au n° 23.

- de Tel Aviv : quitter l'autoroute de Jérusalem à la sortie Mevasseret Zion/Castel. Continuer en direction de l'hôpital Hadassah jusqu'à la jonction d'Ein Karem. Tourner à gauche en direction de Jérusalem. Dans le centre du village prendre la première rue à droite, Ha Ma'ayan Street et à nouveau à droite dans Ha Oren Street. Suivre jusqu'au bout au n°23.

מיקומו הגיאוגרפי של המנזר

המנזר נמצא בליבם של הרי יהודה, בתוך הכפר עין-כרם, המקום אשר על פי המסורת ביקרה מריה את אלישבע וכאן נולד יוחנן המטביל.

עין-כרם אשר אליה נמשכים גם האוכלוסייה המקומית וגם קהל העולים לרגל, הצליינים, שמרה על אופייה ויופייה המיוחדים ובשל כך מושכת אליה אמנים רבים. מעל הכפר מצדו המערבי שוכן בית החולים "הדסה" ובמזרח לכפר - הר הרצל, והמרכז להנצחת השואה "יד ושם".

איך להגיע למנזר "האחיות ציון":

- מירושלים: מגיעים לכפר עין כרם, פונים שמאלה ברחוב המעיין, ובפניה הראשונה ימינה פונים לרחוב האורן ועולים במעלה הרחוב עד לסופו למספר 23.

- מתל-אביב: נוסעים על הכביש הראשי לירושלים, ועוזבים אותו ביציאה למבשרת ציון. אז נוסעים לכוון בית החולים "הדסה" עד לצומת "כרם". שם פונים שמאלה לכיוון ירושלים. בתוך הכפר עין-כרם נוסעים עד לצומת רחוב המעיין, פונים ימינה לרחוב המעיין ושוב בפניה הראשונה ימינה פונים לרחוב האורן ועולים במעלה הרחוב עד לסופו למספר 23.
